Annual AMES Meeting – Strengthening Collaboration Across Micro European States. Gibraltar, 6 November 2025
GFSC - Gibraltar Financial Services Commission - Home successfully hosted the 22nd AMES (Affiliation of Micro European States) meeting in Gibraltar on 6th November, at the Gibraltar Finance Centre.
AMES was also officially established as a Working Group of EFDI in November 2018 following EFDI Annual General Meeting in Sarajevo. It promotes and facilitates the members’ Deposit Guarantee Schemes and intends to be a voice for smaller European jurisdictions.
EFDI extends its heartfelt thanks to all participants for their active engagement and valuable contributions throughout the day. We are especially grateful to the Gibraltar Finance Centre for hosting this year’s meeting and for their outstanding support.
In particular, we would like to thank John Gill for his hard work and dedication throughput the whole event which led to a great success.
The agenda featured a rich exchange of insights, including updates from EFDI Working Groups, governance planning, stress-testing initiatives, and a case study of the last payout case in Liechtenstein. The presentation of GFSC’ new digital payout solution and a roundtable discussion on DGS and resolution developments across jurisdictions further enriched the dialogue and fostered peer learning.
We also wish to emphasize the fruitful collaboration between EFDI and AMES, which continues to strengthen the voice and visibility of smaller jurisdictions within the European deposit insurance and investor compensation scheme landscape. This partnership remains vital in promoting tailored approaches and shared best practices.
