☕ EFDI Coffee Club – Discussion of FSCS for EFDI
The European Forum of Deposit Insurers (EFDI) is pleased to extend its sincere thanks to Guy Enright, Recoveries Finance Manager at the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, for joining EFDI's Coffee Club session on 12 February and delivering an insightful presentation on the latest developments in the UK deposit protection framework.
Guy provided a clear and timely overview of three major FSCS updates:
• 💷 Higher compensation limit – the increase from £85,000 to £120,000, reflecting inflation adjustments and strengthening depositor protection;
• 🏦 New resolution framework – the introduction of the Bank Resolution (Recapitalisation) Act 2025; and
• 💻 Online payout portal – a new digital solution designed to accelerate and streamline deposit repayments.
