Dear colleagues

Communicating details of protection can be difficult, especially outside of the deposit sector, so the FSCS Communications and Marketing Team are constantly looking at ways we can improve awareness of FSCS and also help consumers be aware of what they need to know when engaging with the financial services market.

To help address this FSCS are rolling out a communications approach which we think will help increase awareness of the range of protection FSCS offers, by providing consumers with some basic questions they could ask to find out more about FSCS cover. As part of the approach:

We’ve developed five key question flashcards which we’re making available to consumers via our website. Each flashcard has a list of questions a consumer could ask their financial services provider about FSCS protection. The flashcards can be downloaded onto mobile phone, tablet etc so consumers can use them any at time.

FSCS has developed questions for all of our protected sector including deposits, investments and financial advice

We have also developed a video for social media which is attached – for those of you who are members of the EFDI PR and Communications WG you may recognise the voice as belonging to Suzette Browne, the FSCS PR Manager.

If you have any questions or would like to know more please do get in touch.

Many thanks
